Sexless Marriage Recovery Coaching

When Sex Becomes a Source of Pressure — Instead of Pleasure

After all these years, even decades, you still love each other. So why has sex become so hard?

Maybe one of you wants sex more than the other.

Maybe you haven't had sex in months — or years.

Maybe you still have sex occasionally, but it feels obligatory, disconnected, or like something you have to negotiate.

And the more you try to have more sex, the further apart you seem to get:

  • One of you reaches for more. The other pulls away.

  • One feels rejected. The other feels pressured.

  • One pushes for change. The other shuts down.

  • You start avoiding touch because you know where it might lead.

  • You stop initiating because rejection hurts too much.

  • You become more careful with each other. More guarded. Less affectionate.

These are what I call the pressure cycles. After years of living inside of them, it's easy to lose sight of what brought you together in the first place or how to get back to each other.

You don't need more pressure to make sex come back. You need a way to understand what's happening between you — and have a concrete roadmap to changing it.

How Much Pressure Is Your Sexless Marriage Putting on Your Relationship?

Take this free assessment to see where you are in the spiral — and what kind of support is appropriate for your relationship at your stage.

This is for you if you’re:

  • A couple at midlife, who loves each other but has lost sexual connection and wants to find your way back.

  • A couple caught in years of hurt, rejection, resentment, conflict or disconnection that feel so raw and present right now.

  • A couple who wants to build a stronger foundation for desire and intimacy at the beginning of your relationship, before these patterns become entrenched.

Sexless Marriage Recovery Coaching

If your goal is to recover your sexless marriage and find your way back to each other, we’ll work together to:

Break the pressure cycle
Stop the pattern of rejection, pressure, withdrawal and protection that keeps pushing you further apart.

Rebuild emotional safety and trust
Create a dynamic where you can be honest about what you want, what you don't want, and what hurts — without automatically triggering the same old fight.

Reconnect physically
Find your way back to affection, touch, playfulness and intimacy without making every moment of closeness a negotiation about sex.

Understand and work with your differences in desire
Instead of trying to make one partner want more or the other want less, learn how to navigate your differences in a way that works for both of you.

Create the conditions for desire to return
Build the connection, pleasure and everyday habits that allow sexual intimacy to become something you both want to participate in —not something one partner has to pursue and the other has to provide.

Learn how to do long-term relationship differently
So that you aren't simply fixing today's sex problem, but developing the capacity to navigate desire, conflict, change and intimacy together over the long term.

My coaching is deeply personalized to the two of you. There isn't a formula you need to follow or a list of sexual techniques you need to master. We start with what's actually happening in your relationship and make the changes that make sense in your actual life complete with careers, children, exhaustion, household responsibilities, aging parents, stress and everything else competing for your attention.

The work isn't about adding another impossible item to your to-do list. It is about helping you get closer to each other within the life you're already living.

If we're a fit, here's what working with me looks like.

HIGH-TOUCH SUPPORT:

In addition to Zoom coaching sessions, my high-touch, personalized approach includes any-time email/text support, in-between laser sessions to help you get unstuck and optional in-person intensive retreats online or in person at select locations in Europe.

A LONG-TERM APPROACH:

I work with clients for at least 12 months. This isn't session-by-session coaching because changing deeply established relationship patterns takes more than a handful of conversations. In fact, most clients work with me for 2-3 years because the value continued support for their relationship goals.

FINANCIAL COMMITMENT:

I offer highly-customized couples coaching packages with various level of support for the year that range from US$18,000 for the core package up to $27,000 for unlimited coaching. Payment plans are available.

REAL-LIFE CHANGE:

Change happens when you do things differently, not just when you talk about doing things differently.

You'll have practices and experiments between sessions that help you take what we're working on into your actual relationship — so that change happens where it matters most: at home, between the two of you. Expect to commit at least several hours each week outside of our sessions to spend with each other doing pleasurable and intimate things (which can’t be all that bad!).

BOTH PARTNERS ON BOARD:

You don't need to agree about everything in your relationship. But there is one thing that you need to align on — your willingness to look honestly at what's happening between you and participate in changing it. I work with couples where both partners are genuinely willing to do the work.

VIRTUAL COACHING:

I am an American currently based in Europe and work virtually over the online conferencing platform of Zoom with English-speaking clients all over the world, including the US, Canada, Europe, UK, Israel, the Middle East and Australia. Customized couples retreats are also available at select locations in Europe.

There is no sexual contact involved under any circumstances.

Imagine What Could Change Between You …

For starters, imagine talking about sex without every conversation becoming a fight …

… and it being ok to have different desires without one person feeling rejected and the other feeling pressured.

Imagine touching without every touch carrying an expectation …

… and saying what you want — and what you don't want — without fear.

Imagine feeling like partners and lovers again — instead of opponents …

… and exploring sexual and sensual touch to deepen your pleasure experience.

Imagine being the creators of a relationship where love, intimacy and desire have room to grow.

Different relationships.
Different starting points.
The same possibility: finding your way back to each other.

About Irene Fehr

I'm Irene Fehr, MA, CPCC, SEP, a Sex & Intimacy Coach specializing in sexless marriage recovery.

For more than a decade, I've helped couples navigate the complicated intersection of sex, desire, emotional intimacy — and real life.

I am here to guide you expertly through a highly customized process that tackles the sticky patterns that keep you away from each other while teaching you how to connect sexually in a new — and sustainable — way.

I know this territory personally, too. I lost my libido in my own marriage before I was 30. What I initially experienced as something being wrong with me eventually became the beginning of a much deeper understanding of desire, intimacy and relationships.

Today, I help couples understand the patterns underneath their sexual disconnection and create new ways of relating that make intimacy possible again.

TRUST THE PROCESS … THERE ARE ANSWERS AHEAD.

“[Again and again] we would land in this place [around sex] where Greg felt rejected, and I felt like a failure. It felt hopeless.

If we could go back 18 months to our former selves, we probably looked like 90% of other couples who come to Irene. But we thought we were originals, with original problems and challenges. So my advice is to hop on the train. Trust the process. There is a process, which means that you can't go from the beginning to the end immediately. You have to reset and strip away old habits and old triggers. You have to get on the same page with communication. You have to have that intentional connection. Trust the process. There are answers ahead. It has been life changing… truly.

We learned how to do long-term relationship with Irene …

We've both grown sooo much individually and as a couple … both much happier in our marriage. We were in a rough spot when we started ... tons of bickering … always feeling on edge like a fight was just around the corner, feeling drained by one another/our relationship and not on the same page as a couple. After coaching with Irene, we feel like a squeaky clean new couple. We're much more filled up individually, so we are filled up by our relationship, have sex much more frequently and more fulfilling sex, we have tools on how to do relationship so we rarely fight now. We ... both feel so much more freedom and joy from our relationship. We're also showing our son, and future children, what a healthy marriage looks and feels like. Irene ... lovingly guided us through some very tender times and got us to drop our swords and taught us to open our hearts to one another again. Her coaching is the perfect blend of tangible skills/communication, energy, holding a strong space and having fun. Do it — it takes work, courage, tears, healing and it is 1000% worth it because the love, freedom and joy on the other side is better than you can imagine.

Our relationship is the best it’s been in recent years and that’s a lot due to our renewed intimacy.

Surely not unlike many other couples who have been together 10 plus years, sex was something we just did. We were, for many years, going through the same patterns that we always had and we felt “satisfied.” It wasn’t until we had an honest conversation of “Are you getting what you want out of this?” that we realised that neither of us were.

And as ridiculous as it was to engage a coach on the other side of the planet, it has been life changing. Our relationship is the best it’s been in recent years and that’s a lot due to our renewed intimacy.

We had no idea what we wanted or how to get there, but knew that “spicing it up” wasn’t the answer. We were looking to lay ground work so that our intimate relationship fed the rest of our relationship for the years to come … and great sex is obviously a key to that. Irene provided a supportive environment, helped us grow both as a couple and individually so that we could bring the best of ourselves to the bedroom. We learnt that just “satisfied” isn’t what we want our intimate relationship and sex life to be … we wanted it to be amazing and we, with help from Irene, are well on the way to achieving that.
